Millbank Minis Premiere

Earlier this year, our members were invited to take part in a play writing course. When we reached out to Fishamble about arranging this, they suggested that we do the format of a Tiny Play. This allowed us to have a number of online classes which our members could get tips, submit work in advance and get feedback based on their work.

Playwright Ciara Elizabeth Smyth guided our group through fundamentals of playwriting. The group got to share their work and get feedback on their work from other members. The result of the 4 week programme was 20 tiny plays were written.

We shortlisted the selection of plays down to 10 for filming. The cast involved, some who took part in the play writing course and some of our other members. The group shot their mini movie over a number of weekends. Over 300 hours of editing was completed on the finished products.

To celebrate the talent from all those involved we hosted a red carpet event for those involved in the course and production. To give you a little insight in to the evening we met some of those involved.

Thanks to Anne McCrudden for making the theatre look fantastic.

For those who are interested in getting an opportunity to watch these, we will be offering a streaming service on these productions which will be available for a small fee. Keep an eye on our website and on our social channels for details of this.

Thanks to Fingal County Council for funding this.
