Rush Drama Festival 2022 Results

We were lucky enough to get our 2020 Festival completed just before lockdown. We never got to do a Festival in 2021. So it’s been 2 years since we had our 9 night festival of Theatre.

We are thankful to Fingal County Council for funding the Rush Drama Festival 2022. To open on our first night we held a little celebration on opening night in Rush Library, just across from the Theatre, where we had Moya Brennan perform in the Libray.

This year we had Gerry Stembridge return to the adjudicate the Festival. We had a total of 8 groups planning to attend. Unfortunately one group – The Phoenix Players couldn’t attend due to unforeseen circumstances. The groups who managed to perform on our stage did a fantastic job, each group should be so proud of the work they have done. They have represented their groups well.

On night 5th night, we had something different for our season ticket holders. That morning Gerry met with some members of Rush Dramatic Society, they worked on a piece written by Gerry “Fisheye” (working title) and that evening performed a rehearsed reading which was blocked out on stage with a very minimal set. Gerry gave a brief overview to our audience of the set layout. The group performed and there was a great discussion after. Something a little different but very enjoyable.

On Saturday 5th March we had our final Night at The Millbank Theatre, and we live streamed the results of Rush Drama Festival on the Rush Drama Festival Facebook page. Video below.
